Super cute Abbey! I love this...even sixth grades get into celebrating "The Good Doctor's" birthday. Every year, my former principal would come into our classrooms dressed as the Cat in the Hat and perform magic tricks and read well, The Cat in the Hat of course. This year we have a new Principal and that will not be how we celebrate. My teammates and I are coming up with an alternative celebration and I think that making bookmarks of our kids using that App is just the thing we should add!Ps...I dont know how to change font or bold, otherwise I would have cited titles appropriately!
So funny! My own children love these silly apps where they can transpose people's head onto pictures and dancing bodies! For my class, I posted a few cartoon videos of the old school Dr. Seuss movies and a link to seussville.com onto our kidblog. Then the kids went on and explored. But unfortunately seussville.com crashed early Friday morning! I quickly uploaded two apps that were Seuss games (truffla shuffla was one) and gave them some time playing instead. We read Seuss books and I shared the Hooray for Doofendorfer Day story (I love Jack Prelutsky) and it's background with the kids. Kids just love Dr. Seuss! My own children's principal grew up next door to Seuss's parents, small world right?!
What a great way to incorporate Dr. Seuss and technology Abbey! This is very cute, I wish I had seen this before to use with my own 1st graders. Well, there's always next year! Where do you typically find your apps?
I find a lot either just browsing the App Store for free or inexpensive apps or on Pinterest. This one I found on Pinterest. My kids loved it, and I got lots of compliments from my coworkers, as we used the images to decorate our door!
I love the idea of using your student's photos to celebrate such a wonderful day! Also, being able to incorporate technology with an activity like this is great! I'll have to keep an eye out for cute apps that I can use with my students!! Thanks for sharing this great idea!
