Character Spies Hard at Work!

Here is my very first animoto! I decided to make one to reinforce character feelings.  We have been working on "spying" and studying the characters in our books at reading time.  During this time we are trying to look for clues to find out all we can about the characters.  This unit facilitates students in retelling as well as some critical literacy skills.

  1. If you go to your video in your account and you look to the right it will give you options.
    1. Click more
    2. Click the "embedded video tab"
    3. Click "copy to clipboard"
    4. On your new post on your blog click the "html" tab instead of the compose tab and paste
*** you may have to adjust the height and width sizes to make them fit, just decrease the two numbers you see until you are happy with the appearance when you click back on the "compose" tab.

  2. I love the use of the paint samples to give shades of a word choice!

  3. Thanks for the tip, Steph! I'll give it a try! Also-the kids really seem to respond to the idea that word choice matters and how words fit together with those visuals in place. I've been using it for reading and writing, so it's been great :)

  4. I absolutely love the idea of placing the feeling words on the paint sample colors. I think it is a great visual to give the students. They are able to see how though the words have similar meaning, they are also slightly different. I also like how you started with the simplest version on the lightest color and put the more advanced words on the darker. It looks great!
